Life can be so overwhelming . Sometimes you find yourself in circumstances that looks as if everything and everyone is working against you. Life is just a journey. From problem to problem ranging from health issues to financial issues; from hunger to debts; from unemployment to exhaustion.
Life is a cycle of unending problems. We are not taught what to do when we get overwhelmed with life’s battles. In fact no one teaches us how to do life. We find ourselves here in life and we start living and continue living .
What do you do when your heart is heavy and you are tired of doing life? Is it OK to cry? is it OK to share your experiences and problems or you must act all strong. Many people look calm, cool and collected on the outside. Whereas on the inside, there is a raging storm in their hearts in their minds.
It is said that a problem shared is half solved. It is also said that if you do not sell your disease you will not get the right medical help. However , how can you share your predicaments ? How can you share your confusions when you are not sure of the possible reaction and reception. How do you find a safe space to pour your frustrations, questions and concerns.
People are often unsure and uncertain about their safe spaces so they keep to themselves. They answer to their minds and keep going. They battle with their hearts and their emotions yet they keep moving

Remember that pain happens to all. Regardless of your gender or race or age. Pain is a part of life, Do not feel ashamed or shy to express your pain. You don’t have to hem it in. Pain does not make you less of a person, it rather reveals how strong you are. Remember when you first got on earth; the exposure to the light and sharp air made you cry. It is alright to cry. It is ‘ok’ to cry.
This is to the man in the African society. Here men are taught to “handle ” their emotions and keep it all inside. Dearest African man, know that it is ok to express how you feel. Do not hold your emotions inside. Do not be afraid to show your weakness for it is in our weaknesses that we find our real strengths.
Life has seasons ; fall, winter, spring and summer and each season expresses its emotions. If it is ok to laugh then it is ok to cry . None is permanent.
When you go through each season allow yourself to enjoy every facet of it. This includes the emotions that accompanies the season. It is said that troubles come at once. Sometimes it looks like your life is just moving from one troubled circumstance to another. Everything you will ever need in your life is embedded in you.
You are made for every single circumstance that comes your way. You can go through it. You can overcome it. Crying doesn’t mean you have lost. Crying does not mean you are weak .On the contrary you are strong enough to cry . What happens after is what counts. After Crying, pick yourself up and keep going.
Whatever is putting tears in your eyes today, it is ok to shed those tears . What is not ok is to dwell in the crying mode. Keep moving, the tears will clear your eyes. Soon you will see clearer the road ahead. The tears will break you only to strengthen you again. When the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves. When the eyes be full of tears , do not hold back, allow the eyes to empty itself.
