Speaking on Channel One on Saturday, January 25th, Charles Adongo Bawaduah cwautioned against politicising the fight against illegal mining in Ghana. He explained that making politics out of the situation would only impede the process of finding effective solutions to the problem of illegal mining also known as Galamsey.

He also pointed to the unfortunate uprising in Obuasi resulting in the clash between youth and some security personnel at the Anglogold Ashanti Mine on January 18th 2025.He criticized statements from some NPP loyalists blaming the incident on the NDC. He described such claims as baseless and misleading. He explained that there were no concrete evidences to support such allegations.
He admonished the government to implement structures to permit individuals who are interested in mining to do so legally.
