The teenage boy who drove into another vehicle in East Legon in November 2024 has been sentenced. His action caused the death of two passengers instantly. As a result he has been convicted of manslaughter.

He was slapped with the charges of manslaughter ,negligently causing harm, dangerous driving and driving without a license. He pleaded Not Guilty to the charges laid against him initially but changed his plea to Guilty leading to his conviction.
As a result of his conviction ,he has been sentenced to serve a six months term at the Senior Correctional Center. The court also ordered the teenage boy to report to the officers in charge of the probation every two weeks. He has been directed to sign an undertaking to refrain from driving until he turn 18.
The teen’s parents had their share of the ruling. They were fined 500 penalty units each an equivalent to 6000 Ghana cedis for their failure to supervise their son. They were also charged to pay for all the damages caused by the accident.
