The West African Pipeline Company has started preparatory works ahead of its mandatory maintenance shutdown. The maintenance shutdown is expected to last for 28 days.

Channel 1 News visited the WAPCO Takoradi Regulatory and Metering Station at the Aboadze Thermal Plant on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, to assess the ongoing preparations.
Speaking in an interview, Engineer Benoni Owusu Ayeh gave assurance that the maintenance work will take place within the scheduled timeframe. He further emphasized the importance of the maintenance, highlighting that the extended shutdown was necessary to preserve the integrity of the pipeline.
The initiative which was initially set to take place on January 20.2025 has now been rescheduled to February 3rd 2025
