Their chances further took a downward turn when Newcastle beat them by 2-0 at the St. James’ Park eliminating them from the Carabao Cup competition.
They now have no option than to hope for a Liverpool slip so they have chances at the EPL title or focus on giving their all to the Champions League to have any meaningful chance at a silverware.
