Communication Minister Directs audit of frequency authorisations

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has instructed the acting Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA) to provide a detailed list of all frequency authorisations that have been issued or renewed in the past 60 days.

According to a memo dated Wednesday, February 12, this directive is part of the government’s broader Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative. This initiative aims to reclaim state resources that have been transferred to private interests in ways that do not comply with legal and procedural guidelines.

The Minister has reiterated the government’s commitment to managing all assets under the Ministry’s jurisdiction with transparency and in accordance with due process. This marks the first phase of a comprehensive audit of all frequency authorisations to ensure proper management of state resources in the broadcasting sector.
