Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is reeling in shock after the lifeless body of a student was discovered on campus.
The deceased, identified as a fourth-year Biological Sciences student, an Old Student of Achimota Senior High named Joana Deladem Yabany was found near the university’s Disability and Rehabilitation Center. According to reports, the university’s security services responded swiftly to the incident and transported the student to the University Health Services, where she was pronounced dead.
Although the cause of death remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the University Health Services. The university has expressed condolences to the student’s family and assured the community of a thorough investigation.

The tragic incident has renewed interest in campus security, as some reports suggest that personal effects were missing, potentially linking the incident to robbery or an attack. Consequently, the entire student body is being urged to exercise heightened vigilance, particularly at night.
