Thibaut Courtois Defends GD Amidst Musiala’s Injury

Thibaut Courtois Defends GD Amidst Musiala's Injury July 7, 2025

The ongoing Club World Cup organized by FIFA has had it's fair share of criticism by a section of some football stakeholders.

Most Concerns have stemmed from potential injuries likely to be faced during or before start of season of the tournament. As Jurgen Klopp stated, his biggest fear is that players will suffer injuries they've never had before.

Not long after Jamal Musiala who has never really had any threatening injury experienced one when Bayern Played PSG that resulted in their 2-0 defeat to PSG.

However, Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois believes a careful analysis of the incident that led to the injury should not be blamed on Gianluigi Donnarumma (G.D) of PSG.

He said "Blaming Donnarumma for Musiala's Injury seems excessive to me. Goalkeepers go for the ball. Forwards don't hold back when they get into our way either. It's bad luck. Donnarumma isn't to blame"

We wish Musiala a speedy recovery and hope that he puts this incident behind him. Hopefully no more injuries so we can have a beautiful season unfold
