ASIEDU NKETIA QUESTIONS THE CREDIBILITY OF THE NATIONAL STATE AWARDS

Johnson Asiedu Nketia has expressed concern about the process of selection of the recipients of the National State Awards.

During the 43rd anniversary celebration of the 31st December Revolution, He criticized President Akuffu-Addo’s selection criteria for the National State Awards.

According to him the current process lacks transparency and accountability. He suggested that a committee should be set up. He urged that the set-up committee should be backed by the law of the state. He emphasized that this process would ensure the selection was devoid of any biases or personal interests.

He encouraged that the state awards should be reserved for individuals who had pursued a good course.

His address emphasizes the need for a more transparent and merit based selection process.
