Bagbin Requests Advice from AG on LGBTQ+ Bill

Speaker of Parliament, Algban Bagbin has expressed his determination to ensure the LGBTQ + Bill is passed this year. He stated his intention to write to the new Attorney General and Minister for Justice for advice concerning the matter.

He emphasized that Parliament was responsible for passing laws in the country and not any other body and institution. He stated that the decision of the previous administration was wrong.

He pointed that the Bill was approved by the Parliament but the previous President did not assent to it. He emphasized that the decision of the former President ,Akuffu-Addo was unconstitutional.

Addressing the Ghanaian community at Cote D’Iviore , on January 26th,He expressed his desire to ensure the Bill was passed at all cost.
