On Saturday, January 11,a Turkish Airlines Flight, TK 630,operated by a Boeing737 MAX 8, travelling from Accra to Istanbul was forced to return to Accra approximately two and half hours after takeoff.
The flight was forced to return to the Kotoka International Airport in Accra due to an unknown plight. The exact cause of the plight remains unknown.

Onlookers observed the aircraft circling around the Ghanaian airspace to perform a fuel disposal. A procedure used in aviation to dump fuel and reduce the aircraft’s weight to safe landing limit. This activity helps the aircraft land without risking structural damage or safety hazards.
The aircraft executed the fuel damp and landed safely with no reported injuries or safety concerns. The Boing 737 MAX 8 is under careful observation due to security concerns.
