The College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has announced an indefinite strike. The strike is stated to begin on Thursday 2nd January 2025.
The Association mentioned that the Government has on many occasions defaulted the agreements between them. They also explained that the government has dishonored the compulsory arbitration award issued by National Labor Commission on May 2,2023.

They explained that they initially alerted the government about their concerns on September 26th and December 23rd 2024 but their concerns were ignored. The National Labor Commission disregarded their pleas. This , they explained, has left them with no choice other than strike.
CETAG stated that the declaration of an indefinite strike is in accordance with section 159 of the Labor Act,2003 (Act 651).
