Court Ruling: Ablekuma North Constituency Election Disputes.

The high court has intervened in the parliamentary elections dispute between Ewurabena Aubynn and Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh in the Ablekuma North constituency. The court’s ruling granted a mandamus, ordering the Electoral Commission to complete the collation of 62 outstanding polling station results that were left out. These results will be added to the already collated results, and the winner is expected to be declared by January 6th.

The Ablekuma North election dispute has been a contentious issue, making headlines due to irregularities recorded during the collation and declaration process. The Electoral Commission rejected the initial collated results, citing that 62 polling stations were left out before the declaration of the winner, which is unacceptable .

The situation is further complicated by the destruction of some ballot boxes from Ablekuma North by fire at Kwashieman Cluster of Schools. These ballot boxes were instrumental evidence for the outcome of the declaration. As the country awaits the outcome, there’s hope that peace will prevail in Ghana.
