On Friday, April 4, 2025, a devastating shooting incident occurred at the Seventh-day Adventist Senior High School in Bantama, Ashanti Region, resulting in two students being seriously injured.

According to school sources, the incident happened during break time when second-year student Bernard Amoabeng brought a firearm onto campus. A dispute arose among students regarding the gun’s authenticity and functionality.
In a shocking turn of events, Amoabeng allegedly discharged the weapon, claiming he was “just testing it,” and unintentionally shot two classmates.
One victim, Penamang, suffered a severe gunshot wound to the forehead and was initially treated at Kwadaso Hospital before being transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital due to the severity of her injuries.

The Suame Police have taken Amoabeng into custody and initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
