Today 05.12.24 marks the Special Voting exercise for these two Regions. The Special Voting Exercise was scheduled for 02.12.24 but was rescheduled for the Eastern and Western Regions.
This followed an alleged leakage of the ballot papers in these two Regions. As a result the Electoral Commission ordered a recall and reprint of the ballot papers for the affected regions.
During a press conference on 01.12.24,Jean Mensah, the EC chair, announced a reschedule to 05.12.24.
Polls in these two Regions will open 05.12.24 at 8:00 am and close at 5:00pm .
It should be noted that, only voters listed in the Special Voters Register are eligible to partake in this exercise. These include security personnel and media practitioners who will be on duty on the 07.12.24.

The Electoral Commission chairperson, Jean Mensah assures all stakeholders that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure transparency.
