Speaking during an engagement with the Association of Private Security Organizations, George Akuffu Dampare (IGP) has cautioned private sector security operatives not to obstruct the activities of the state security task force in any way in relation to the upcoming December 2024 general elections.

He reassured Ghanaians ,especially those eligible to vote , that the security personnel were ready to offer any needed assistance to them during the exercise. He said :
‘To Ghanaians, we want to assure you that we have your backs and we will do all it takes so you don’t get confused especially voters’
He assured Ghanaians that He and his team were putting structures in place to favor everyone regardless of party affiliations. He explained that this exercise was to ensure that the public had confidence in the security system . He emphasized that there was no need for anyone to attempt to provide security on their own. He called on Ghanaians to have faith in the National Security team .
He stated that :
We are fully and totally in charge, be rest assured.
We are taking his word for it.
