Q: What Inspired You To Write This BOOK?
Inspiration Behind “Teach Us to Pray”
I was inspired by Luke 11, where Jesus’ disciples ask Him to teach them how to pray. I discovered that Jesus’ prayers were effective due to His relationship with God and conviction. The book explores principles of prayer beyond routine methodologies and emphasizes on the importance of relationship and conviction in prayer.
Q: Can I Say The Content Of The Book Was Based On Personal Experience?
Absolutely, “Teach Us to Pray” offers personal insights and experiences into my pastoral background . My inspiration for writing this book stemmed from counseling sessions, where I sought to educate people on the true nature of prayer. I discovered that humans often have misguided notions about prayer, while God’s perspective emphasizes the importance of relationship and alignment with His will.
As the conversation delve into the chapters of the book He explained certain key points;
- Authority through Jesus: God’s authority is granted to believers through Jesus Christ, enabling them to access the Father’s presence.
- Alignment with God’s Will: Prayer requests must align with God’s will, as Jesus embodies the Father’s will.
- Relationship over Fervency: Effective prayer is not about shouting or emotional displays, but rather about cultivating a deep relationship with God.
- Direct Access to God: As believers, we have direct access to God through Jesus Christ, eliminating the need for intermediaries.
- Personal Relationship with God: Building a personal relationship with God through prayer and fellowship is essential for experiencing His presence and power.
Pastor Emmanuel Adjei; also elaborated on Debunking Misconceptions Among Believers ;
- Equal Access to God: Contrary to popular belief, pastors are not closer to God than others. All believers have equal access to Him.
- Prayer is Not an Emergency Line: Rather than treating prayer as a last resort, we should focus on building a consistent, personal relationship with God.
He ended the interview by encouraging every believer to learn how to pray , so that when you pray you can access the throne room of the Most High God.
Effective prayer goes beyond methodology, requiring a deep connection with God.
