The President-elect John Mahama has directed the NDC Parliamentary leadership to nominate Algban Bagbin as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
He gave this direction in consultation with the National Executive and Parliamentary Leadership of the NDC. Together they have mandated the nomination of the Right Honorable Algban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin as Speaker of the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic.
In a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, they explained that Algban Bagbin carries a wealth of experience that the position requires. These experiences are necessary for directing the affairs of the Parliament. The statement mentioned
“He brings a wealth of experience to the position which will prove vital to the Parliament at their critical period in Ghana’s democratic and legislative development. “
The President-elect has emphasized his conviction about the leadership of the Hon.Speaker of Parliament and has endorsed his continuation.
