The president elect, John Mahama has revealed that farming is his true passion and his retirement plan. He explained that farming is not just a business but a way of life and passion for him. He stated that besides politics, farming would have been his career path.

Mahama also revealed his plans to expand his well-established farms. He has farms in Yapei and Busunu in the Savanah Region. He has invested in both livestock farming and crop farming. These farms currently produce maize and soyabean.
