JOHN MAHAMA SWORN IN AS THE 6TH PRESIDENT OF GHANA’S 4TH REPUBLIC

John Mahama,the winner of the 2024 Presidential elections has been sworn in as the President of Ghana.This marks the beginning of His second term in office.

The swearing in ceremony took place at the Black Star Square in Accra on January 7th 2025.

John Dramani Mahama ,the leader of the NDC Party emerged as the winner of the 2024 General elections. His victory in the December 2024 elections was an uncontested one.This signaled a widespread confidence in HIs governance.

The event incorporated the official swearing in of Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the Vice President. This marks history as Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang is the first female to fill the Vice presidential position in Ghana .

The ceremony was attended by several international dignitaries, Head of States,Diplomats, representatives of International Organizations and members of the Diplomatic Corps.

He was sworn in by the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkonoo. During the swearing in ceremony, He emphasized His commitment to serve and the people of Ghana and to uphold the constitution.

There was a smooth transition of power and a peaceful event signaling Ghana’s strong democratic practices. The event highlighted Ghana’s reputation as a nation dedicated to democracy.
