The finance minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam refused to appear in parliament on Tuesday 17.12.24 as scheduled. This marks the second time he has absented himself without any explaination.
The minority in parliament has expressed concern over the absence of the finance minister for the second time without any prior notice. This raises serious concerns as it is causing a delay in the presentation of the mini budget.
The minority has called on the government to act on the matter to ensure smooth financial operations of the nation’s financial issues in the transition period.

The majority leader ,Mr. Afenyo Markin was also absent from parliament on Tuesday 17.12.24 . Governs Agbodza criticized the act and explained that this action posed serious implications for the outgoing administration of President Nana Akuffu-Addo.He also questioned the delay in the presentation of the document stating that
“There is no reason why a document in the possession of the Mr.Speaker,the document is already here while there is nobody in the government to hear this.It is a mystery. Why did you communicate that document to parliament if you are not ready to lay it”
The member of parliament for Manhyia South,Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh suggested that the finance minister’s absenteeism could be because he was working on the documents for the presentation.
