The leadership of the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has declared their commitment towards ensuring a free, fair and credible election in Ghana .
In a statement issued on 03.12.24,they have commended all their members for their diligence during the election period. They encouraged their members to continue to offer their services responsibly while safeguarding the peace and democracy of the Country.
“We commend the efforts of all our members who have worked diligently to inform the public in the lead-up to elections. Let us continue to do so responsibly, keeping Ghana’s peace and democracy at the forefront of our priorities. “

They reminded their members of the importance of the role they had to play in ensuring and encouraging a peaceful and transparent elections.
It advised journalist to refrain from reporting anything that may inflame tensions. They discouraged the publishing of any content that could potentially harm the peace of the country. Rather journalists were advised to publish contents that would foster unity.
PRINPAGG also emphasized on the need to encourage peace and national cohesion during and after the elections period. It admonished members to adhere to the highest standards of journalism by verifying facts before publication.
