Flight j2-8243 was en route Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital to the Russian city of Gronzy, when it experienced a crash. The crash occurred near Kazakh city of Aktau, killing at least 38 people.

Vladmir Putin has responded to the incident by expressing his heartfelt condolences to Iham Aliyev.
The Kremlin released a statement that declared that Vladmir Putin has apologized for the tragic incident that occurred in the Russian airspace. The statement also stated that Putin expressed sincere condolences to the families and victims affected. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The statement read:
‘Vladmir Putin apologized for the tragic incident that occured in Russian airspace and once again expressed his deep and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured
They explained that the plane had repeatedly tried to land at the Gronzy airport at a time when Russian air defense systems were countering Ukrainian drone attacks.
