PUWU(Private Utility Workers Union has expressed their disapproval to any decision to privatize the Electricity Company of Ghana.

This reaction resulted from an announcement made by John Jinapor. The Energy Minister designate on Monday January 13, declared the NDC’s intention to privatize the sector. He explained that as part of this idea,a seven member committee will be set up to explore the privatization process.
Timothy Nyame, the general secretary of PUWU has expressed that there are other alternatives of addressing the issue aside privatizing the sector. He explained that the time was not right for such a decision.
