The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, has firmly stated that the EC has no role in the deployment of military personnel or any election-related security arrangements.

This statement comes in response to concerns following the Ghana Armed Forces’ (GAF) announcement about deploying military personnel to designated areas for election security. The GAF clarified that no military officers would be stationed at polling stations.
