The first two quarter final games gave a taste of everything football. The bitter, excitement, sweet, and yes a taste of a need to revenge scorelines in the second leg fixtures.
Arsenal stayed at home and scored three past Real Madrid in a non traditional fashion. Two of those goals came from Declan Rice’ stunning free kicks. Which is the first of it’s kind by a player in the knockout stages of the competition since it’s inception. Merino topped it up to three with a classic finish. Arsenal are in good standing going into the return encounter at the Bernabeu in Spain.
Inter Milan also left the Bavarians in Germany, Bayern Munich upset with a 2-1 victory. This puts them at a good goal advantage as they look forward to playing the return leg at home given how robust their defense is.
Today, the quarter final excitement continues with Barcelona and PSG welcoming Dortmund and Aston Villa at home respectively.
Fans surely have their fingers crossed for exciting football. But then are advised to remember upsets in football are real.
