The Electoral Commission has announced a rerun of the election exercise at the Abokobi Women’s Development Center 2 polling station in the Dome Kwabenya constituency. The rerun is important to produce the final results of the parliamentary polls in Dome Kwabenya.
The NDC aspirant , Elikplim Akurugu was declared the winner of the parliamentary elections in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency. It was later discovered that the process was marred by certain irregularities . It is also alleged that pink sheets were tampered wit after some party supporters besieged the coalition center.

It was noted that the coalition process of the 367 polling stations were marred with discrepancies in three outstanding results. The director of Training at the EC explained how this deviation occurred.
Dr.Serebuor explained that the report from the returning officers suggested that during the coalition of the results, they left the results of three polling stations. The commission also rejected one of the results on the stance that it was declared on a wrong statement of poll (recorded on training sheets). However after after incorporating the two valid results the margin between the two leading aspirants was a significant (165) votes. The votes of the rejected polling station was also 669 votes.
He also stated that the commission will determine when the rerun will be held . He however assured that it will be before the inauguration ceremony on the 7th January 2025.
