Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto Committee, has ridiculed Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, also known as Napo, after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate mistakenly endorsed NDC’s John Mahama during a campaign rally.
The gaffe, which happened not once but twice, has triggered widespread laughter and discussions among Ghanaians.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Afriyie Ankrah claimed the incident underscores the NPP’s preoccupation with John Mahama and the growing appeal of the NDC.

“One mistake is okay, but repeating it twice means Napo needs help. He needs deliverance. It’s as if Mahama is living rent-free in their minds,” Ankrah mocked.
He humorously added that “the spirit of the NDC and Mahama” appears to have taken hold of Napo, calling it a clear sign that even opponents recognize the NDC’s relevance.
Afriyie Ankrah suggested that Napo’s blunder reflects deeper issues within the NPP and urged Ghanaians to consider the NDC as the better choice for true leadership and change.
“When an NPP leader like Napo calls on Ghanaians to vote for John Mahama, it shows that the NDC is now the most attractive party,” he said.
